Somatic Experiencing, Somatic Touch, Self Regulation Skills and  Resilience

What is Somatic Experiencing?

SOMATIC EXPERIENCING (SE™) is a body oriented approach used to resolve trauma symptoms and other stress related disorders.   Similar to other somatic approaches, the body is the primary vehicle used to establish new patterns within the physiology that provides us with a sense of safety in ourselves.  These new physiological patterns emerge outside of the trauma lens allowing us to transition into the transformation of our true selves.
Advanced practitioners in  Somatic Experiencing who are trained in the use of touch work will also employ this additional approach, in the healing of developmental, relational and attachment trauma.

What should I know about my Somatic Experiencing Practitioner's (SEP) training?

Practitioners with the designation of  Somatic Experiencing Practioner must complete a 3-year (216 hours) certification as well as a significant number of professional consultations and personal sessions.
Additional Touch Skills Training for Trauma Therapists and Somatic Resilience and Regulation integrate the somatic approach by using touch-based methods to support the resolution of trauma in the body.
Touch Skills training focuses on the use of kinesthetic learning, somatic awareness, and other touch-related skills in the context of working with the resolution of traumatic stress symptoms in the physical body (96 hours).
Somatic Resilience and Regulation focuses on understanding the effects of developmental trauma in children and developing adults. This cutting edge approach opens the door to working in the milieu of nonverbal trauma. By understanding the neurochemistry of early trauma, and rebuilding developmental platforms through regulation, clients begin to move from a high-cost-of-doing-business system to a smoother and less stress-oriented system (96 hours).

Individual Sessions

Variable Platforms of Care

I am currently offering both virtual and in person sessions at this time. Both types of  sessions can be remarkably helpful in the process of bringing a sense of homeostasis and safety back to the body.
